Note: Screen Tax is not yet listed in the Chrome Web Store or Edge Add-ons store. For now, install it manually using the steps below — it takes about two minutes. Store listing coming soon.

Installation Instructions

All Chromium-based browsers use the same extension file and the same steps.

Google Chrome
Fully supported
  1. Download the .zip above and unzip it to a folder you'll keep (e.g. Documents/screentax-extension)
  2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder
  5. The Screen Tax icon will appear in your toolbar — click it to log in

Microsoft Edge
Fully supported
  1. Download the .zip above and unzip it to a folder you'll keep (e.g. Documents/screentax-extension)
  2. Open Edge and go to edge://extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode using the toggle on the left sidebar
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder
  5. The Screen Tax icon will appear in your toolbar — click it to log in

  2. Open Brave and go to brave://extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder
  5. The Screen Tax icon will appear in your toolbar — click it to log in

  1. Download the .zip above and unzip it to a folder you'll keep (e.g. Documents/screentax-extension)
  2. Open Opera, click the menu (≡) and go to Extensions → Extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder
  5. The Screen Tax icon will appear in your toolbar — click it to log in

Firefox and Safari are not currently supported. Firefox uses a different extension API and Safari requires an Xcode wrapper. Support for both is planned for a future release.
